Anglers enjoy two distinct world-class sport-fishing options in the crystal waters surrounding Kamalame Cay.

Bone Fishing

The ‘Bonefish Capital of the World’, the vast flats of Andros teem with silvery bonefish. The largest found anywhere, they average four pounds, often reach nine-plus pounds, and there’s the opportunity to land bonefish in the rare, double-digit weight class. Kamalame guests can pursue the elusive fish right offshore in the shallows that run along the Cay’s mangrove coast. Or book one of our expert guides to navigate further flung locales stretching all the way to Majestic Point on Andros Island for full or half-day trips aboard Maverick skiffs.

Deep Sea Fishing

Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, King Mackerel and Snapper to Mahi-Mahi, Barracuda, Shark, Blue Marlin and Grouper; the deep blue waters surrounding Kamalame Cay thrive with marine life. Just 100 yards off the Andros Great Barrier Reef, full or half-day trips—aboard a 24-foot Pathfinder centre console V-hull boats powered by 200hp Yamaha motors—are available with experienced local guides and captains skilled in fly and conventional tackle.

Endorsed by ORVIS as a world-class global fishing destination, Kamalame is lauded for its skilled guides and high standards of service. ORVIS also deemed our private island resort—equipped with tennis courts, fine dining and organic spa—"the best place to take a non-angling spouse.”
