Sea Star Gazing

March 05, 2018

If you're headed to Kamalame Cay, then you should know by now that being in the ocean is one of our top priorities. We love splashing and discovering what is hidden below sea-level. If snorkeling is on the agenda, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the most renowned creature that lives in these parts of the Caribbean, the Sea Star. Did you know that Sea Stars are carnivorous and that their mouths and bellies are on the bottom side of their exterior? Because of this, you can find these curious creatures living and thriving among our colorful coral reefs.

The Sea Star is a stand out among the snorkeling community, many snorkelers dive into the water hoping to catch a glimpse of these spectacular little stars. Their recognizable shapes draw people in, and the vibrant colors they display make them even more exciting to see. Plan a private snorkeling trip to Staniard Rock--we have half-day morning and afternoon tours leaving at 9:00am and 1:00pm, or take the entire day to enjoy the sea and reserve a full-day excursion from 9:00am to 4:00pm. How many stars can you spot below sea level? We can't wait to hear all about your time spent below the sea swimming with the stars!
