Feast on a Local Delicacy

September 10, 2018

Conch is a tropical marine mollusk that lives in shallow Caribbean waters. Their meat has been harvested for centuries and is a local Bahamian staple. You’ll notice their impressive multicolored shells scattered all across the island- some have been harvested while others are still thriving.

This delicacy is served year-round and can be eaten as cracked conch, conch fritters, and conch salad to name a few favorites. If you’ve never had this type of seafood, you can expect tender white meat, succulent and mild in flavor. Try it on the Cay, curried with coconut infused rice or as freshly made ceviche. Join us at The Great House restaurant for a sea-to-table dining experience during your stay at Kamalame Cay.
