Bonefish in the Backwaters of Andros

October 01, 2018

There are many things that make Kamalame Cay special, this secluded piece of paradise is swimming with activity focused around the ocean. A favorite past time here at the resort is the expert angler skill of bonefishing. Bonefish are tiny silver fish that live along the flats of the shallow Caribbean waters. These small fish are tough to catch because of their camouflaged reflective scales and slender silhouettes. Bonefish are generally light in weight and rarely fall into the double-digit category, but they are plentiful in number here in Andros Island and an exciting challenge to catch. There are so many of them in fact, that Andros is known as the "Bonefishing Capital of the World.’ Let one of our expert guides take you out for either a half or full day excursion, where you learn all about the ways of the water while searching for this elusive little fish!
